Mouhamed Saer Sene (born May 12, 1986) is a Senegalese professional basketball player who currently plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sene was drafted 10th overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2006 NBA Draft. He is noted to have great shot-blocking potential because of his 7’8½” wingspan and drew early comparisons to NBA greats Dikembe Mutombo, Hakeem Olajuwon and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
On April 4, 2008, Sene suffered a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee in his first game back with the Idaho Stampede after being sent back to the D-League for the second time in the 2007-08 season. The extent of the injury was shown in a MRI. The team is in the process of figuring out when and where he will have surgery.
